Subject in the course as a whole:
Public International Law is a subject that provides a basic knowledge of the international legal system, which is an essential complement to a legal scholar's comprehensive training for two basic reasons. First, because in an increasingly interdependent and global international society, Public International Law allows for analysis of its regulation, and of the projection and conduct abroad of the State and of other subjects and agents who interact in today's international society and who define it as it currently is. Second, because the education-learning process in Public International Law is axiologically based and therefore encourages a reflective and critical approach to the values that exemplify the principles and rules of the international legal system and of how they are applied.
