The course as part of the academic plan (max. 4000 characters)
The subject of Economic Policy is taught as a part of the BAM degree as an aid to understanding and analysing the main economic measures taken by the government or other institutions to achieve certain objectives that improve the level of well-being of the group.
The subject is taught in the second semester of the second year of the degree course. This positioning is intentional, as it corresponds to a transversal learning strategy. In this sense, it is worth pointing out that, in the second semester of the first year, students have achieved a basic knowledge of economics with the subject Economics I. After the first semester of the second year, with the study of Economics II, they enjoy sufficient knowledge of economics to be able to interpret and use economic information and indicators. At this point in the course students can assimilate and understand the different economic policy measures, the objectives they seek to achieve and their consequencese for economic agents and sectors, the learning objectives of the Economic Policy subject. All this knowledge will later be fundamental for understanding the current economic environment and its development -basic content of the subject Spanish and World Economics, which is studied in the first semester of the third year.
